Polymer Clay Fairy Door

I love working in polymer clay. I used to be so lucky as it used to go on sale at Michael's craft store  every few months. Unfortunately it hasn't gone on sale in years. Then we got a Hobby Lobby that's some what close to where I live and they do put the clay on sale once in a while....which makes me do the happy dance!!!

So I recently got back into working with the clay again and that did I make? Why a fairy door of course! I have made and given away so many of these little doors that I have honestly lost count. They are as close to me as Massachusetts and as far away as Washington state.

I thought I would go with a garden colored one this time. I really like these colors. Now you might be asking...what is she going to do with another fairy door? Why, I'm going to have a give away over at MaryJanes Farm!! I hope whoever wins it likes it!

Crazy Quilts

I love to quilt! I love to pick out fabrics. threads and notions. I love to embroider too and so I thought why not  try a crazy quilt? I made a small one years ago and gave it away, much to my surprise the person who I gave it to absolutely loved it.  Then I put my supplies away and didn't even think about making another one until I started going through my books.

I ordered a grab bag of silks, satin's, cords and the like from Etsy. The fabrics are lovely and are of such a nice quality. I wanted some really nice material for the quilt. I am only making a small one to start. I'm thinking maybe twenty by twenty. We'll see, I might decide to make it bigger.

This is the first block all pinned, pressed and ready to embroider.

I will post another pic of this block when it's all done. Now off to the fun part....the embroidering and embellishing.

Join as you go crochet!!

I love to crochet granny squares, I really do!! What I don't like is having to sew them together when I am finished with them. Sooooo.....I finally got up the courage to try the join as you go method. OH. MY. GOODNESS. I am in love! I'll admit I did find it a little tricky at first, the hook kept getting in the way and I kept saying  "what in the world do I keep doing wrong?" But I got it!!! Yeah! I'm using  Vanna's Choice yarn. I love how all of the colors go so well together. And best of all...no sewing at the end. I will post some more pics as I go along, I'm loving how this is coming out.

Scrap Granny Square Afghan

Wow, it's been a really long time since I posted anything, hasn't it? Life, among other things gets in the way! But just because I haven't posted anything that does not mean that I have not been working on anything. Right now I'm working on so many things that I can hardly keep up with them.

I have so many large and small skeins of scrap yarn hanging around in my closet and I was like...hmm, they are much too nice for me to throw away so what am I going to do with them?

I searched Pinterest (I think Pinterest is an amazing place for creative people like me!!!) and I saw  someone working on a scrap granny square afghan. It's nothing fancy and it's really easy to work but I love the random colors and the fact that it's perfect for the scrap yarn that I don't want to simply toss in the trash.
I will post some more photos as I go along. Now I have to start thinking about what I want to do for a border.
